My work lives inside what I call The Field for Human Communication—a relational approach to how we lead, speak, decide, and shape culture together.

Communication isn't something you turn on and off.

It's the landscape you create.

With every meeting. Every decision. Every silence. Every truth you speak. Every conversation you avoid.

The Field is where leaders and changemakers learn to align what they value with how they show up—cultivating emotional intelligence, relational clarity, and communication that strengthens culture rather than straining it.

WHAT IS THE FIELD?

The Field for Human Communication is a new paradigm for leadership of self and others.

It's where you stop performing who you think you should be—
and start communicating from who you actually are.

MEET YOUR GUIDE

I'm Mary Huron Hunter—and I've been building The Field for 30 years. I just didn't name it until now.

I started as a journalist, trained to examine every story from every angle.
That discipline of inquiry—and the commitment to truth—still grounds everything I do.

I spent three decades leading teams, mediating conflict, and helping organizations communicate with integrity.

Along the way, I developed frameworks for inside-out communication that I practiced quietly while building my business. Now, I'm making this work explicit.

What I know:
Culture doesn't live in values statements.

It lives in:

  • How power is exercised

  • How feedback lands

  • How conflict is metabolized

  • How decisions are made when no one's watching

Communication is the delivery system for all of it.

What I do:
I guide leaders, changemakers, and organizations through The Field—
helping you close the gap between what you say you value
and how you actually communicate.
