The Field for Human Communication is where leaders and teams learn to align what they value with how they show up…cultivating emotional intelligence, relational clarity, and trustworthy communication that strengthens culture rather than straining it.
WHAT I’M BUILDING
My work lives inside what I call The Field for Human Communication, a relational approach to how we lead, speak, decide, and shape culture together.
From that foundation, there are three ways to work together.
>> Communication Consulting
Strengthening how leaders and organizations communicate — internally and publicly — so values translate into observable behaviors. This is culture work. When I advise on voice or positioning, it is in service of alignment: what you say reflects how you actually operate.
>> Leadership Coaching
Supporting individuals and small cohorts in deepening presence, emotional intelligence, and relational capacity through embodied communication practices. This work builds steadiness under pressure and the ability to speak truth without losing connection.
>> Feminine Leadership
An orientation toward leadership rooted in awareness, integration, and sustainability. Moving from performance to presence, from control to coherence, from urgency to grounded clarity. Open to anyone drawn to leading this way.

I’m Mary Huron Hunter (she/her), a communication strategist, mediator, and coach.
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked across systems, corporations, nonprofits, startups, small businesses, and local government—supporting people who carry responsibility, navigate complexity, and make decisions with real-world consequences.
I began my career as a journalist, trained to look at every story from a 360-degree perspective—examining context, verifying sources, and investigating before drawing conclusions. That discipline of inquiry still anchors my work today.
I am a certified mediator, facilitator, and professional coach. Across sectors and systems, I’ve seen how communication can stabilize an effort, or quietly unravel it.
A central focus of my work is helping leaders and organizations translate their values, missions, and ideas into observable behaviors. Because culture does not live in statements. It lives in meetings, feedback, conflict, decisions and how power is exercised.
What grounds my work is a deep study of:
• Human behavior and relational dynamics
• Somatic awareness and emotional regulation
• Communication in times of change and uncertainty
• Nature as teacher, mirror, and organizing intelligence
I’m interested in how people actually function in the modern world—
how conflict shows up in the body,
how meaning is made between people,
and how communication either builds trust or quietly erodes it.
I support leaders and individuals in developing communication that is clear, regulated, and relational—especially when clarity, trust, and connection matter most.
